LRQA today announced a new partnership with Mitchells & Butlers (MAB) to deploy LRQA SafetyScanner™ – a solution to reduce injuries to customers and employees.
LRQA, a professional services company specialising in engineering and technology solutions, has announced a partnership with Mitchells & Butlers (MAB) to deploy LRQA SafetyScanner™ to reduce injuries to customers and employees across MAB’s 1,700 outlets throughout the UK.
Developed by LRQA's dedicated digital innovation practice LRQA Aurora, SafetyScanner uses unique Artificial Intelligence and Natural Language Processing (NLP) technologies to quickly and easily collect raw accident description data from multiple formats, transforming it into meaningful insights that highlight areas of high Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) risk.
LRQA SafetyScanner™ can process large amounts of Mitchells and Butlers’ EHS data, analyse it and then cluster the results to highlight areas that require attention.
These data insights are featured on a web dashboard and can be cross-referenced with claims data to highlight trending incident patterns and areas of claims risk. The safety team at MAB will be able to see new EHS data streaming on the same topic, get a clear view of performance over time and more effectively identify areas of improvement. This information will help MAB reduce the risk of accidents or incidents in the future and create safer locations for both employees and customers.
Ran Merkazy, Vice-President Product and Services Innovation, Lloyds’s Register said: “We are excited to be collaborating with Mitchells & Butlers on this industry-first project. Getting rapid, accurate and actionable insight from EHS data can be a challenging and time-consuming task. Our latest technology, LRQA SafetyScanner™, changes that by offering a single version of the truth at the click of a button.
Darren Read – Fire, H&S Manager, MAB
“The safety of our customers and employees is paramount. LRQA SafetyScanner will give MAB’s EHS team the information it needs to identify risk elements and effectively address issues. We are continually looking to improve our safety environment in all locations across the UK, and based on initial trials with LRQA, we anticipate that LRQA SafetyScanner™ will help us create an even safer environment for our customers and employees.”
Stuart Kelly, Head of Commercial for BA&IS, LRQA, said: “LRQA's customised assurance food and hospitality practice is about improving brand integrity and reducing risks for our customers. In collaboration with our innovation colleagues at LRQA Aurora, we continue to challenge our customers with new solutions focused on making their compliance simpler, better, faster and more cost effective.”
