LRQA has announced its acquisition of RESET Carbon, a leader in corporate and supply chain carbon management solutions.
The move marks the latest major milestone in LRQA’s strategic growth plan, as the third acquisition in three months, reinforcing LRQA’s commitment to helping clients navigate fast-evolving challenges in ESG compliance, sustainability and risk management.
Despite the ever-evolving regulatory landscape around corporate sustainability, supply chain carbon management is a critical focus area, driven by corporate Scope 3 emissions reporting requirements, voluntary targets like those under SBTi and upcoming regulations expected to impact sectors like consumer goods, apparel, retail, electronics and food and beverages.
The demand for carbon management solutions is particularly prevalent with surging investor, customer and regulatory pressures. The LRQA and RESET Carbon partnership therefore combines complementary strengths across product portfolios and geographic footprints to directly address this demand.
We’re excited to welcome RESET Carbon to LRQA and their unique supply chain carbon management solution. Together with our decades of expertise in assessment, inspection, cybersecurity and ESG advisory services, along with our supply chain intelligence platform, EiQ, we will deliver powerful, data-driven ESG assurance for global corporate clients and supply chains.
“As stakeholder scrutiny and regulatory pressures around carbon management continue to grow, this partnership is about helping clients go beyond compliance, instead providing innovative and market-leading solutions that drive real environmental impact. This acquisition also further strengthens LRQA’s commitment to global growth, both organically and through strategic M&A, ensuring we meet the evolving needs of clients in risk management across all areas.”
Liam Salter, CEO, RESET Carbon, said:
“I’m proud of RESET Carbon’s development and delivery of our truly market-leading and comprehensive ‘supply chain carbon management’ solution – a brand-new service concept which centres around linking change to clients’ existing business goals. Backed by a unique track record of projects delivered for major brands, I’m eager for the next phase in our journey. Leveraging LRQA’s expertise and global reach, the partnership will refine and scale our unique ‘supply chain carbon management solution’ beyond Asia, offering enhanced insight and delivery capabilities at a larger scale – essential for success.”
RESET Carbon was previously owned by BayWa r.e. – a global renewable energy company – who supported RESET as it scaled and is delighted to have enabled the partnership with LRQA. In this new phase of RESET’s journey, the companies are united by a shared net zero vision and client-first mindset in meeting environmental challenges.
The acquisition has been completed. The teams will now work together to integrate RESET Carbon into LRQA’s operations, ensuring a smooth transition to ultimately benefit both client bases, internal processes, and to increase the impact and purpose of their work.
