AS 9100 quality management certification
An ISO 9001 based quality management system for the aerospace industry
Launch your aerospace operations to success
With aerospace organizations continuing to face mounting compliance requirements as the industry rapidly evolves, the globally recognised AS9100 series of aerospace standards is helping its leaders to secure customers and penetrate new markets through a transparent commitment to global supply chain safety and quality excellence.
The AS9100 series is made up of three constituent standards—AS9100 (aerospace organizations), AS9110 (aviation maintenance), and AS9120 (aerospace distributors)—that are based on the ISO 9001 QMS standard with additional requirements specific to aerospace operations.
The AS 9100 rules are due to be amended. These changes introduce significant updates to the auditing and certification processes.

Remote AuditFrequently asked questions
What is AS 9100 and why is it important?
AS 9100 is a widely adopted and standardized quality management system (QMS) for the aerospace industry. It ensures that organizations meet stringent quality and safety requirements, leading to enhanced product quality, improved customer satisfaction and a competitive advantage in the aerospace market.
What are the recent amendments to IAQG rules for AS 9100?
The recent amendments to IAQG rules include significant updates to the auditing and certification processes for AS 9100. Key changes involve simplified site structure classifications, removal of mandatory annual audits of the purchasing process and new requirements for pre-audit data submission (OCAP data).
How do the changes in site structure classifications affect my organization?
The amendments have simplified site structure classifications to single site and multiple site. Organizations previously classified under structures like "several-site," "campus," and "complex organizations" will need to transition to the multiple-site structure.
Are annual audits of the purchasing process still required under the new rules?
No, the requirement to audit the purchasing process during each annual audit has been removed. However, the purchasing process will still be audited as part of the overall surveillance cycle.
What is OCAP data, and why is it important for audits?
OCAP (Organization Certification Analysis Process) data must be submitted to the Certification Body (CB) at least 60 days before each audit. This data includes metrics such as on-time delivery, product/service conformity, customer complaints, and organizational performance, ensuring thorough pre-audit planning and evaluation.
How can my organization benefit from AS 9100 certification?
Benefits of AS 9100 certification include improved product quality, increased efficiency, higher customer satisfaction, and a stronger reputation in the aerospace industry. Certification also opens up new business opportunities by meeting the stringent requirements of major aerospace manufacturers and suppliers.
Is the use of OASIS v3 mandatory for all audits now?
Yes, the use of the IAQG OASIS v3 system is mandatory for all audit reporting, including the management of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs). Audit reports using AS9101F word forms are no longer acceptable.
How can my organization prepare for the new rule changes?
To prepare for the new rule changes, organizations should review the amendments thoroughly, update their QMS and audit processes, and ensure they are ready to submit the required OCAP data. It's advisable to seek support from certification bodies like LRQA to navigate these transitions smoothly.
